There is an ever constant buzz around,
Combined with random engine sounds,
Passing rumbles present underfoot,
The screech of brakes is all it took,
Vending junk is all around us,
Robot voiced announcers,
Lollipop music with annoying hooks,
Billboards are everywhere you look,
The countdown’s begun darling, not very long,
We’re moving forward, ever slowly, homeward bound,
We’re homeward bound.
Maybe those sounds are lions underground,
Watching and bracing, ‘bout to pounce,
To relieve the pressures, with clenched jaws
On the treasures they restore.
Buildings with vines all around them,
Trees push through cracks at random,
Waves breaking into rooves of houses,
Fish school past a blackboard which announces,
The countdowns begun children, not very long,
We’re moving forward, ever slowly, homeward bound,
We’re homeward bound.
Why should we be living in a concrete place,
With a million people, who’ll never even know your face,
Why should we be living in a constant race,
With a million people, you’ll never even know your place.
